Personality overhaul

I am currently on the train on my way to London and thought might as well use the time to be useful. I’ve been meaning to write this post for a few days but work has been manic and I’ve been doing non stop back to back shifts, as well as officially settling in my new room mate (Mike) and sort out finances and a new nursery for Jake. His current one is closing down due to lack of funds which is such a shame, but his new nursery is lovely and very close to the train station which is essential if I get this new job I went for the other day. Please cross all your fingers/toes/arms/legs and any other body part that you can cross in the hope of me getting this job it would be the most amazing opportunity for me.

I am so excite about going to London but it got me thinking slightly. The friend I am going to see I’ve been friends with for about 10 years. We went to school together and I consider her to be one of my best friends in the world. We have been through a lot both together and separately, yet despite all that, when the two of us get together it’s as if no time has passed at all. I am sad to say that there is a friend or two who I can no longer do that with and we have been friends for far longer. The thing is this:- I understand that life changes as you grow older, and new events such as getting a bf/engaged/married or moving in with a partner or moving away for a new job or having children and anything else which you might consider to be big happens, and that these events change you. However, I never thought that events such as this would mean you change to the point that you are no longer friends with the people you use to be so close to. It’s even more baffling if you have been through similar events and yet the gap between the two of you has grown larger still. I understand that everyone deals with things differently, but wouldn’t you want your friend by your side? Or am I missing the point entirely?

Anyway, I need to get off the train. Just some food for thought I suppose. Enjoy your evening.
