eBay

Hello,

I’ve begun to bid on things on eBay… My goodness what a rush. I’ve won two nights a row too… I am trying to decide whether the feeling is as good as that first sip of wine after a long day…

In other news, Jake is convinced he’s a girl. I’m not sure that I can be FULLY blamed for this because I’ve only painted his nails twice… And I certainly never ever made him try on my pants or my bra. He is convinced though and he gets really cross when you try to contradict him. Next week we will be going full blast on the potty training. I’m determined… I must remember to sash the house with enough wine to get me through it.

Mike and I are selling a lot of stuff on eBay, do check it out, it’s all going to a worthy cause…

P.S just to clarify… I didn’t make him try any of my undergarments on, if you don’t believe me ask Mike xx

A step in the right direction

Hello,

Well I have done it. I have become cool… Or at least I think I have. I have purchased a Kardashian dress and at the moment there is nothing cooler. Also, I have managed to get away with putting snow down Jake and Mike’s backs without receiving any form of retaliation. That to me is pretty cool. Incidentally I hope you are coping okay in the snow, I keep annoying myself because I see so many beautifully warm jumpers that I want, but I have so very many jumpers in my draw. Mike said I’m not allowed any more draw space and that I need to get rid of more stuff… We have just put a lot of stuff on eBay so I don’t feel that’s necessary however, he keeps threatening it. What a bastard. Jake is loving the snow; the only annoying thing is that he drags his feet when he walks. I say annoying, what I actually mean is the most irritating thing in the world ever- EVER. I think he does it just to annoy me and slow me down, as well as slip and cause me to panic. I just don’t understand where he has picked up this need to drag his feet… I definitely don’t do it. Is it just a kid thing or a boy thing? He did say something hilarious the other day. Mike called him bossy because Jake was telling him how to eat- this coming from a child who stuffs every single minuscule crumb into his mouth in a mini second- so Mike called him bossy. Jake’s reply? No Mike, I’m a boss. He then carried on eating and that was very much the end of the conversation. By the way, the stuffing of food… I swear Jake just does it to make other people think that we don’t feed him, except then you see him. He definitely isn’t underfed though :/ he’s such a rascal.

Anyway, I’m off. I’m making Mike watch the entire Harry Potter box set because its AMAZING!

Stay safe.

A wish

Hello,

I wish I was cooler… Like really cool. Is that weird? I don’t know but I definitely want to be cooler.

In other news, Jake is giving Mike the run around. It’s really funny. He goes to bed and he cries and Mike is instantly “oh we should check on him” 🙂 it’s brilliant. He is so adamant that he has Jake worked out… It’s nice to see Jake get his own back 😉

Also, we went running today. I’m still alive clearly. But definitely not cooler. I’m going to work on that.

P.S…

If that last post made no sense, it will at least if nothing else, grab your attention with the title 🙂 I am so very devious.

The child within me…

Hello,

I have been thinking a lot recently about words and the power behind them. I’m hoping this will make the title a little more obvious, but just in case, it is not a reference to me being pregnant. This is not the way I would announce it first. Anyway, slightly off topic. I was thinking about the words we see and the words we use on a daily basis. I was also thinking about the words that are put in songs and poetry. A while ago, a friend of mine made a very good point; he said that in countries where they don’t speak English as a first language, the word love is only used when couples are in love, and that they have another word to describe something they actually adore. He explained that we Brits love everything. We use the word as if it is any other regular word, so it begins to feel less meaningful. Now I don’t know that this is true, but I do see his point. I say love a lot, I love a lot of things 🙂 but then I think about how I feel about Jake and Mike, and I realise that the things I ‘love’ I probably don’t. This is not a judgement on others, because for a ll I know they might love the things they say they love. I just wondered what kind of a feeling they get, if it’s the same as I do.

I was thinking of my brother too. This will make you chuckle because it made me chuckle, and I laugh at everything. He is colour blind (that isn’t the chuckling bit) and as siblings do, we were taking the piss. You see he has a car which he thinks is red, but it is definitely orange. But we were saying that even though he says things like the grass is green, we say are you sure because we believe it’s red 🙂 do you see what I mean? I mean for all we know, the colour that you see as green, I see as pink. This will make sense, what I am trying to get at. Basically, we have a word that to us means a multitude of feelings, but is that the same for everyone?

Another thing, think about that word that describes everything you have ever felt for someone, what happens when you hear it in a song or in a poem? Or what about when you hear your other half say it? Or your child? The word changes everything doesn’t it? Or is that just me? Do I sound crazy? I don’t think I am explaining it very well. I have been thinking about how to word this all day… ha how ironic! Okay that wasn’t funny.

Read this …

‘Would you rather, therefore, have had nothing at all?

No. This is where I have always been coming to. Since my time began.

And when I go away from here, this will be the mid-point,

To which everything ran, before, and from which everything will run.

But now, my love, we are here, we are now, and those other times are running elsewhere.’

That is a verse from ‘Possession’ by A. S. Byatt. The poem is wonderful, the first time I read it, ah well… without meaning to sound like a complete weirdo, it hit a nerve. In a good way obviously. This is what I mean though; in this verse they use love as an affectionate term, but the entire verse is made up of a mixture of words to describe this feeling that she has for him, the lack of time that they have, yet she knows deep down, that she will always come back to him; that is where her time will eventually end.

Now try this…

‘I belong with you, you belong with me,

You’re my sweetheart…

You belong with me, I belong with you,

You’re my sweet…’

This is a verse by The Lumineers. If you haven’t heard the tune, then well… you should because they are awesome. But it makes a difference, again no mention of the word love…

You know you could very well argue that sometimes love doesn’t need to be said, a look or a touch, or a picture… can say it all. I believe that, but I also believe that there are ways of expressing that feeling you get when you see them using all kinds of words, as well as love.

I think I have said enough… don’t judge me okay?

Sleep well.
